Saudi clubs keen on signing Man City’s English sensation as City boss Pep Guardiola transfer position emerges
Manchester City are currently in pursuit of retaining their Premier League title for the upcoming season. However, they are still in the process of making acquisitions and disposals during the summer transfer window.
According to sources, the Saudi Pro League (SPL) continues to consider Kyle Walker as a potential transfer target.
The Manchester City right-back is currently competing with England at Euro 2024 and will have the opportunity to claim silverware on Sunday evening should the Three Lions defeat Spain in Berlin.
Walker is believed to have attracted the attention of Saudi teams prior to the current tournament in Germany, and there is uncertainty as to whether the 34-year-old is interested in remaining on City’s roster for the upcoming campaign.
The England international is “firmly on the radar” of SPL clubs, according to a recent report by GMS. The clubs are “desperate” to persuade Walker to accept a new challenge away from Etihad Stadium.
The aforementioned article also indicates that Pep Guardiola and other members of City’s hierarchy are cognizant of the possibility that the value of the six-time Premier League champion may decline significantly as he approaches the conclusion of his contract with the club.
At the conclusion of the previous season, the former Tottenham Hotspur defender discussed his future with City, stating, “I will remain as long as I am able to.” This is a profession that I adore; I never awaken with the intention of not reporting to work. I derive immense pleasure from playing football; it brings me joy. It is the location where I find bliss.
“I believe that I can contribute even more to the team; I have two years to do so.” I may not be able to play as frequently as I would like, but the manager’s preference for the position will be determined by my performance this season and my work ethic in training. I am in excellent health, so I will continue for as long as feasible.
“I can guarantee that it may take us a few days to shake off the cobwebs when we return to this location for pre-season. However, we will immediately resume our efforts to defend our Premier League title as soon as the first game is played.” Why are we unable to perform five consecutive tasks?
