“Ruben Amorim doesn’t want him” is written in a six-word message by a Manchester United player, which makes him look bad.

Old Trafford will be different after Ruben Amorim takes over, and the words of a Manchester United star who is “unwanted” could be embarrassing if he is fired.

Jonathan Zirkzee’s first message after joining Manchester United might backfire if Ian Wright is right.

After joining INEOS from Bologna for £36.5 million in the summer, the Dutchman was Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first big signing. But the forward had a hard time getting started because United has had a rough start to the season.

As part of an attack that was so slow that it almost put Erik ten Hag out of his job, Zirkzee has scored just one goal in 14 games this season. People were excited when Ten Hag signed Zirkzee, but later it was said that Ten Hag never really wanted Zirkzee at Old Trafford in the first place and that the club’s leaders pushed for his signing.

Ruben Amorim took over as manager after Ten Hag was fired, so Zirkzee has a chance to make a good impression on him. But Wright, who used to play for Arsenal, thinks the 23-year-old will have a hard time no matter who is in charge. This could make his first message to the club look strange.

When Zirkzee met with United after signing his contract, which ends in 2029, he said he was excited to start this new journey.

“I trust this step a lot and feel good about it,” Zirkzee said with hope. “It wasn’t hard to decide to move to Manchester United.”

“I mean, I love Bologna a lot, but, yeah, Manchester United just gave me a very, very good feeling and [I am] very confident what’s planned will also happen.”

But Wright says that trust has been broken, and Zirkzee probably no longer feels good about going to Manchester.

“Based on what I’ve seen so far, I can’t see Zirkzee making it,” the star said on Wrighty’s House. “I can see Hojlund doing it.” Other players around him look like they could be better than him in the future. He seems like he could get hot if he gets in and around the box and has chances.

“And I don’t see Zirkzee the same way.” As I watch him play, I don’t notice anything that makes me think, “Okay, there he is, I see what he can do.” This is clear in Hojlund and a few others. I think they’ll level up quickly, but I feel bad for Zirkzee.”

Taking Zirkzee away from being a player at Bologna in the Champions League will start to look like the wrong choice if Wright’s prediction comes true and he loses even more respect at Old Trafford. And it would be best if not much was said about his positive opening speech.
