REVEALED: There are two reasons why Erik ten Hag enjoys working with Alejandro Garnacho, who is a star player for Manchester United
Alejandro Garnacho was the star of the show for Manchester United, as he was the one who won two penalties during their 2-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League.
After putting in yet another key performance in Manchester United’s victory over Everton, Erik ten Hag advised Alejandro Garnacho to keep his attention on becoming better for the rest of the week at Manchester United.
On what was his 25th consecutive start across all competitions, Garnacho was the one who won both of the penalties that United used to defeat the Toffees by a score of 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman stated that he enjoyed working with the teenager at Carrington, but that maintaining focus during the week is the key to improve his game even further. The 19-year-old has established himself as a crucial member in Ten Hag’s assault, and the Dutchman revealed that he loved working with the youth.
“I think he can and it’s about him, if he can keep the focus and puts the right effort in the game, but also during the week, if he keeps that focus,” Ten Hag stated in his interview.
There are moments when it is challenging for younger players, and there are also instances when they lack experience. The coaching staff certainly has a job to do. As long as he maintains this level of concentration and this frame of mind, he will continue to get better from game to game, and that is exactly what we perceive right now.
“When it comes to younger athletes, you are constantly required to tell them. We have to put in a lot of effort during the training sessions and meetings, and we have to be absolutely perfect in order to achieve the desired performance during the weekend.
Garnacho is the kind of player who enjoys being challenged, according to Ten Hag, who also applauded his bravery and confidence while he was on the ball.
It is a pleasure for me to collaborate with him, as well as with the many other players on the team, and to test them. He told me that he is a player who enjoys a challenge, that he is very daring, and that he is quite confident.
You have to put in a lot of effort on a daily basis because it is our responsibility to push him to high levels. He has a lot of potential, and we need to make sure that it is realized.
“Since you are still young, you have no idea what it is like to compete in a league that is really competitive. It is necessary for you to get that experience, and you are not aware that you must do well in each and every training session if you want to improve. You require a lot of skills because there are so many different areas in which they can develop their game.
