Reason why 29 years-old defender goal was not ruled out John Stones during Man City vs Liverpool amid Nathan Ake stop Alexis Mac Allister
The match between Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title was played at Anfield on Sunday, and former Premier League referee Mike Dean was present to provide commentary on the match.
Mike Dean, a former referee in the Premier League, stated that there was “nothing wrong” with the first goal scored by Manchester City versus Liverpool.
After Arsenal’s victory over Brentford by a score of 2-1 moved them into second place in the league, Liverpool was aiming to regain their position as the top team in the league. But it was City that scored the opening goal at Anfield, and John Stones was the one who did it. Stones, who had previously played for Everton, was able to slip a clever corner kick from Kevin De Bruyne past Caoimhin Kelleher, who was providing the goalkeeper for Liverpool.
The fact that Nathan Ake appeared to prevent Alexis Mac Allister from becoming involved led several individuals to believe that the goal could be disregarded by the video assistant referee. Nevertheless, the goal was permitted, and City’s rapid start in Liverpool was rewarded with a goal. As part of an interview with Peter Drury, Gary Neville, and Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports, Dean provided an explanation as to why the goal was acceptable.
According to the information provided by the former referee, “I believe that when you see from behind the goal, Mac Allister is actually pulling Ake toward him.” According to the Liverpool Echo, the individual involved stated, “To tell you the truth, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the goal.”
Neville used the word “clever” to describe Ake’s contribution to the goal, although he was curious about whether or not the video assistant referee would intervene. He remarked, “I’ll have to take another look at it, but that was a brilliant move on De Bruyne’s part.” I am curious as to how he was able to recognize that run.
What a man to deliver the goal, what a man for the occasion! “They must have worked on it, what a man to deliver that goal! Because Ake is so astute, he blocks Mac Allister, but the video assistant referee might check into it and determine whether or not he is blocking him from an offside position. Could it be that he is stopping him from entering that position? That is something that coaches all throughout the country will be looking at with gratitude and admiration.
