Real Madrid has an active clause to sign a 34-year-old forward prior to Al-Gharafa’s transfer.
Espanyol, a newly promoted La Liga team, has disclosed that Real Madrid has exercised its option to acquire Joselu.
Since the recent hours, Real Madrid has paid Espanyol the agreed-upon sum of €1.5 million, which was established during the loan agreement last summer, and as of this Thursday, Joselu is an official Real Madrid player.
Real Madrid has officially informed Espanyol that they will be paying the buyout clause. Consequently, Joselu is no longer a member of Espanyol.
“Real Madrid has notified RCD Espanyol that it is executing the purchase clause for Joselu Mato, which was stipulated in the agreement between the two clubs a year ago.” Consequently, Espanyol issued a statement that Joselu is no longer a white-and-blue player.
RCD Espanyol extends its best wishes to him as he embarks on his latest professional endeavour.
It is intriguing that this does not inherently imply that Joselu will be playing for Real Madrid in the forthcoming season. Real Madrid’s primary objective is to alleviate Joselu’s obligation to negotiate his departure from Espanyol.
Joselu will not take part in a match for Real Madrid.
Joselu has already signed a contract with Al-Gharafa in Qatar, under which he is expected to receive a net compensation of €8 million per season for the next two seasons.
Real Madrid intends to transfer Joselu to Al-Gharafa for the same €1.5 million that they paid to Espanyol.. This transaction will facilitate the striker’s transition.
The Qatari club has finalised the agreement with Joselu, and the center-forward is anticipated to sign a two-year contract with an option for a third year. It is anticipated that this initiative will be officially disclosed within the next few days.
Last season, Joselu turned in an extraordinary performance, netting 17 goals and making a substantial contribution to Real Madrid’s triumph.
The team emerged victorious in the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League. His departure signifies the conclusion of a successful tenure; however, he anticipates new opportunities and challenges with Al-Gharafa in Qatar.
