Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling both scored as Chelsea held Manchester City to a 4-4 stalemate at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Due to his reverence for his former club, Raheem Sterling halted his celebrations after scoring for Chelsea against Manchester City. In a thrilling 4-4 Premier League draw, Sterling scored Chelsea’s second goal, and former City forward Cole Palmer converted a penalty in the 94th minute to claim a point for his new club.

Palmer engaged in celebratory actions by flexing his shoulders towards the crowd, whereas Sterling prematurely halted his celebrations by running towards the corner flag in front of the travelling City supporters.

Sterling refrained from exuberantly celebrating, stating that he restrained his joy and maintained he had nothing to prove to City.

“Scoring is gratifying, and I achieved that,” he declared to Sky Sports. “Remember, it’s your old club, so refrain from going too far.” “I enjoyed my time at City; it is well known what I am capable of.”

Palmer, meanwhile, refrained from discussing his own jubilation, but expressed his eagerness to demonstrate to City what he was capable of following his summer transfer.

“Playing against City for the first time was quite peculiar,” he remarked. “The club where I spent fifteen years has my deepest respect. It was great to see some old acquaintances. There are many of my pals.

“The delay for it [the penalty] was quite lengthy. I experienced confidence. I have now received several penalties. Just remain composed for the next minute and a half. Concentrate and attack.

“The game was phenomenal; I was ecstatic to see the faces of my teammates and demonstrate my abilities.” “We fell behind but recovered.”
