Unai Emery remains optimistic about the possibility of recruiting additional players for the forthcoming season, despite the fact that Aston Villa has been among the most active clubs this summer.

Emery has already acquired a number of players this summer, including Ross Barkley, Amadou Onana, and Ian Maatsen. However, with the upcoming Champions League campaign, he is seeking additional players.

Villa and Emery are interested in acquiring players who can significantly enhance the first XI and provide the squad with the necessary depth.

Villa should prioritise the improvement of its offensive capabilities.

According to reports, Villa is on the brink of selling juvenile striker Jhon Duran to West Ham for approximately £40 million.

And Fabrizio Romano believes that Villa could potentially pursue the signing of Portugal’s Joao Felix if the transaction is finalised.

Romano has expressed his belief that Villa has a sincere interest in Felix during an interview with GiveMeSport regarding the possibility of signing a new striker.

“The negotiations for Jhon Duran are still ongoing, as Aston Villa has consistently sought a package value of £40 million.”

“I believe this will be significant because Villa can make a genuine effort to achieve their goals with Joao Felix if they are able to generate this amount of revenue following the Moussa Diaby sale,” Romano stated.

“It remains challenging and intricate due to the substantial fee and salary.” The salary in particular may be a concern; however, the interest in Felix is sincere.

Felix, who describes himself as “world-class,” has already played for Chelsea in England and may be interested in demonstrating his capabilities by joining Villa.

It is uncertain as to what the asking price for Felix would be. Atletico has previously sought a price of approximately £77 million for their striker; however, it is probable that this figure has decreased over the past few years.

Felix is, however, readily accessible, and reports indicate that he is currently training independently in anticipation of his departure.
