It was anticipated that the teenage defender would join the Ligue 1 team under the BlueCo ownership framework.

Pedro Lima will not be joining Strasbourg this summer under Chelsea’s BlueCo ownership banner. Instead, Wolves have secured a surprise 11th-hour agreement for the Brazilian youngster.

Following weeks of protracted negotiations with his current club, Sport Recife, the 17-year-old right-back was anticipated to join the Ligue 1 team Strasbourg, which is managed by Patrick Vieira and is under the ownership of Chelsea.

Nevertheless, the Brazilian team announced in an official statement on Monday evening that an agreement had been reached with Wolves.

The release stated that “Sport Club do Recife has signed a binding agreement to transfer the economic and federative rights of athlete Pedro Lima to Wolverhampton Wanderers, from England.”

“The agreement is contingent upon customary conditions, which include the athlete’s consent to medical examinations conducted by the English club.”

“The football management committee and President Yuri Romao will provide a comprehensive statement regarding the operation once all business-related activities have been finalised.”

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Lima has reached an agreement with Wolves for a five-year contract that includes an additional 12-month extension.

He is anticipated to arrive and undergo a medical examination on July 1 prior to concluding his transition to Molineux.

Wolves’ acquisition of Lima appears to be a significant victory, as they recently concluded a £12.7 million agreement to acquire the highly regarded Portuguese winger Rodrigo Gomes from Braga.

Tommy Doyle, a former England Under-21 midfielder, will also be joining the club on a full-time basis next month. Manchester City has activated their option in his initial loan agreement to secure a permanent summer transfer.

Estevao Willian, the dynamic Palmeiras winger known as “Little Messi,” will be joining Chelsea this summer. He underwent medical examinations in Brazil over the weekend in preparation for his initial £29.5m transfer to Stamford Bridge, which could ultimately be worth over £51m.

In recent years, Chelsea has also recruited promising youth players from South America, including Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, Angelo Gabriel, and Kendry Paez.

Former Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo was the inaugural senior acquisition of the new Enzo Maresca era this month, replacing Thiago Silva. Additionally, they continue to harbour an interest in Jhon Duran, the striker for Aston Villa.
