According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain is interested in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana following his impressive performance for Belgium at Euro 2024.

PSG, Manchester United, and Barcelona are all interested in signing the 22-year-old this summer, according to the French publication (27 June). The Toffees are expected to request a fee of up to £50.8million.
During the Euro 2024 group stages, Onana was characterised as “the exception” in a Belgium team that lacked imagination. PSG is the most recent club to exhibit interest in signing him.

Manchester United have reportedly withdrew from the pursuit of Onana in favour of PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte, while the Parisians regard him as a more affordable alternative to Benfica’s Joao Neves.

Given the numerous clubs that have already expressed interest in him, Onana appears to be the most probable player to not be wearing a blue uniform at Goodison Park next season.

The midfielder has implied that a transfer is imminent this summer, stating to Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws that he wished to “present himself” to Europe’s most prestigious clubs at Euro 2024 (30 May).

Despite the Toffees’ efforts to retain Jarrad Branthwaite, it appears that player sales are inevitable this summer due to the financial concerns that have plagued the club over the past year [Don Hutchison, 18 June].

In the near future, Dan Friedkin, the new owner, could alleviate the burden of a profit and sustainability loss by selling Onana, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future is also uncertain [HITC, 30 May].Everton would appreciate it if PSG were to allocate more than £50 million to acquire Onana, as it would establish a significant advantage in the competition for the Belgian player. Additionally, it would provide Onana with the superior European opportunity that he appears to desire.

In other Everton news, Newcastle’s transfer to Everton has been unsuccessful, prompting two Premier League clubs to pursue Calvert-Lewin.
