The Oklahoma Sooners have bolstered their roster with a major transfer addition, securing two-time Women’s College World Series champion infielder Avery Hodge from LSU. The move reinforces an already stacked Oklahoma lineup as they chase another national title.
Hodge, a standout player during LSU’s 2023 and 2024 WCWS runs, brings championship experience and defensive versatility to the Sooners. Known for her clutch performances and leadership, she is expected to make an immediate impact in Oklahoma’s infield.
“I’m thrilled to be joining a program with such a winning tradition,” Hodge said. “Oklahoma is the standard in college softball, and I’m ready to help continue that success.”
Head coach Patty Gasso welcomed the addition, saying,
“Avery is a proven competitor with a championship mindset. Her skills and experience will be a huge asset for our team.”
The transfer marks another high-profile pickup for the Sooners, who continue to reload with elite talent. With Hodge now in the fold, Oklahoma remains the team to beat in college softball.
