An excellent year for Magnus Cort Nielsen of Denmark in 2024, with victories at the Veneto Classic and the Arctic Race of Norway. The rider for Uno-X Mobility recently talked to Ekstra Bladet about finishing his tenth season in the sport and his one goal for 2025: to win a monument.

“I won the Veneto Classic, a one-day race to end the season.” If you’re a rider, you’re merely better than you were before. “I’m really winning these months,” he said.

“Winning that race gave me some confidence that I can compete in the big one-day races. If I do win one of them, it will probably be Milano – Sanremo.” I’ve already done that for next year.

Some other riders are also planning to race in Milano–Sanremo next year. The Danish rider’s statement is very strong. Furthermore, Tadej Pogacar has said that he desires to win that race more than any other in 2025, as it is one of the few races he has not yet won.

While Magnus Cort Nielsen has tried his luck on the cobblestone classics before, he is sure that the Milano–Sanremo will be his best chance. In fact, he has won stages in all seven grand tours, including two stages in the Tour de France and six stages in the Vuelta a España. Why not try Milano–Sanremo? There are still a few more months to go before we know if the 31-year-old can master the first icon of the year.
