Reportedly, Mashack was a part of the deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets of Houston.
“Memphis, Tennessee” (WVLT) — Jahmai Mashack remains a Memphis Grizzlies player, despite Sunday’s numerous reports linking him to a seven-team trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets.
If Mashack’s mother, Meika, is to be believed, her son was moved from the Rockets to Memphis on draft night—not to the Golden State Warriors, but supposedly with Alex Touhey.

In conclusion, Will Richard was drafted by Memphis and then immediately had his rights traded to Golden State.
In exchange, the Grizzlies received the rights to the 59th pick, which belonged to the Houston Rockets.
After Houston picked Mashack, Memphis acquired him in a trade.
To sum up, Mashack intends to remain in the Volunteer State after the officialization of this draft night transaction.
The completion of the trade is left to the Warriors’ discretion.
This is why, according to Mashack’s mom Meika, Memphis benched him for their Summer League debut.
It is anticipated that Mashack will be able to make his professional debut once the deal is finalized.

Mashack appeared in 137 games during his Tennessee career.
He was a finalist for Naismith Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.
