“No doubt about it” – Roy Keane issues warning to Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag on him been “SACKED” after Man City win
Roy Keane warned Erik ten Hag before of the Premier League’s final weeks.
Roy Keane says Erik ten Hag is under ‘great pressure’ as Manchester United manager when his future is uncertain.
United play Man City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon in the Manchester derby. United is sixth and Pep Guardiola’s side is second in the league, 15 points apart.
This season has been fraught with rumors over Ten Hag’s United management future. The whispers returned last week after the 2-1 loss to Fulham at Old Trafford ended four straight top-flight wins.
Last month’s 25% takeover by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineous Group made them United co-owners. United’s sole hope of winning this season is the FA Cup, and Keane has weighed in on Ten Hag’s future.
He told Sky Sports News: “The manager has a big few months ahead for several reasons.
Ten Hag wants the new owners’ faith, City wants titles. Results will come in a few months.
“Despite being erratic and giving up many chances, the squad has dug in and won. Going to Nottingham Forest in the week and winning the cup should boost their confidence.
“Undoubtedly, United must perform well today. Anything below that will defeat them.
“Big pressure on the manager, crucial months ahead. They may gain backing from the new ownership if they win today.
“I’m sure the new ownership involved will take stock in the summer, and it’s a big few months for the manager.”
