Because of his knee problem, Kyle Bartley is likely to miss this weekend’s game against Cardiff. After playing against Oxford, the experienced center back hasn’t fully recovered, so Carlos Corberan had to give new signing Paddy McNair his league debut at Blackburn on Wednesday night, along with Semi Ajayi, because Everton loanee Mason Holgate was still not available. McNair is expected to keep his spot on Saturday after helping to keep a clean sheet. He was supposed to go back to training on Thursday.

Corberán stated, “Bartley told us in practice that his knee hadn’t fully recovered from the last game.” It looks like he won’t be able to play against Cardiff on Saturday, but we’ll have to see how his knee feels in the next few days. The other player hurt, Mason Holgate, will train on Thursday.

Corberán thinks they could have won the 0-0 draw with Blackburn, but they will keep working: “I really value the effort the players have put in to take a point away.” So far in the league, every team that has played there has lost. Blackburn had won five of the last six games here. It’s important to recognize how competitive the team was on the field to earn a draw.

“The draw isn’t what we wanted, and we don’t think it’s a good point, but we will view the players’ effort as a good point.” We’ll keep working to find the answer that will help us get three points.

“Yes, the team has done enough good things to perform better.” In my opinion, the team knew how to play the game well and was very bold. In some situations, we were able to take control of the game.

The speed with which they attack would have made it hard to manage if you played the game very openly.

“I like how the team had a lot more control of the game, especially in the second half and end.” We lost the ball only once in the middle of the field, which gave them a chance to score on a counterattack.

“On the whole, we had more chances to get something else and get three points.” It’s important to make chances and keep getting better at attacking without losing your defense. Some plays could have made better use of the ball, and we’ll keep working on that.

Following the draw, both teams have 19 points after 11 games, with Albion having a better goal difference and moving up to fourth place in the table.
