New Face, New Energy: Jeremy Jones Joins Memphis Grizzlies Summer League Team

A different Zag will be competing in the Utah Summer League and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Prior to his transfer to Wake Forest, Jeremy Jones was listed on the roster of the Memphis Grizzlies alongside Efton Reid III, a former Zag. Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells, both of whom attended Washington State University, are also on the roster.

Due to a shoulder ailment that has sidelined him since late November, Coward will not be able to play.

In the 2024–25 season, Jones played with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the G-League affiliate of the Houston Rockets. Averaging 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 assists in 34 games played, the 6-7 forward had a solid season.

The G-League was Jones’s last stop after professional stints in Japan, Austria, and Germany.

He played at Gonzaga in 2017 and was a part of their Final Four team. The Utah Summer League takes place over the course of three days in July.

The official start of the NBA 2K26 Las Vegas Summer League is July 10th, and the championship game is July 20th.

In addition to Ben Gregg and Khalif Battle, the other Zags participating in the popular showcase in Sin City will see Ryan Nembhard and Nolan Hickman reunited in the Dallas Mavericks’ backcourt, and Khalif Battle will play for the Phoenix Suns.

Although the complete roster has not been announced yet, Anton Watson is expected to be a part of the New York Knicks.
