Neglected Man United man reveals precisely when he decided to leave the club after securing transfer deal in this summer

Facundo Pellistri’s turbulent tenure at Manchester United concluded this summer, and he has disclosed the cause of his departure.

After four years and three loan spells in Spain, the promising and exciting young winger was signed from Penarol in Uruguay with the expectation of becoming a future hero at Old Trafford. However, he opted to join Panathinaikos in the summer window in order to advance his career.

In general, Pellistri devoted a greater amount of time to playing on loan than he did for his primary club. The 22-year-old appeared in 25 matches for United, with his final appearance occurring in the Community Shield. Bernardo Silva was able to enter and score the equaliser, which resulted in United’s subsequent loss on penalties, due to his lack of cognisance. He has relocated to the Greek Super League and is eager to establish himself at a football club.

“I had made the decision a little before I returned to training,” Pellistri stated to ESPN Deportes. I was aware that playing was the optimal course of action for my future and at my age. I could potentially play in Manchester, but the process would be more complex.

“Consequently, I would not have the desired number of minutes in a year, so we set out to explore alternative options.”

“All of the alternatives that I evaluated were sourced from Europe.” I did not reject the possibility of returning to South American football; I simply did not receive any proposals from the region.

The youngster’s United chapter is not entirely closed, as his contract with Panathinaikos includes a three-year buy-back clause. This clause allows him to return to the Greek club if he proves himself. The Uruguayan could still provide United with a modest cash injection, even if he does not return to north-east England, due to the 45 percent sell-on clause.
