Ja Morant, a player for the Memphis Grizzlies, has been ignoring recent NBA stories. Earlier this week, the All-Star point guard addressed his supporters through a live stream.

 

 

 

As a jab at the current Kawhi Leonard controversy that has rocked the NBA community recently, one fan attempted to make a joke about Morant joining a “tree company” that he owns. No one could understand the humor except Morant.

 

 

 

“‘Ja, I’ve got a tree company if you want to come on board,’” Morant said, reading the fan’s message to him aloud. “What kind of tree are you talking about, bro? What kind of tree bro talking about? Bro’s wildin’ over here.

 

 

Claims that the Los Angeles Clippers paid Leonard under the table by avoiding the salary cap have prompted an investigation.

 

 

 

Pablo Torre, a sports journalist, recently reported that Steve Ballmer, head coach of the Clippers, had invested in the now-defunct Aspiration, a company whose stated goal was to offset carbon emissions by planting trees.

 

 

The fact that Morant is in the dark on the Aspiration debacle could provide some comfort to Grizzlies supporters. It would appear that the high-flying guard is avoiding difficulty following his own
