MEMPHIS MIRACLE‼️ Ty Jerome’s Last-S, Second Hail Mary Sparks Grizzlies’ Stunned Silence After 6MOY Comeback!

As the NBA offseason began, the Memphis Grizzlies had a weak hand in the high-stakes game of free agency.

Since the front office’s financial resources were appropriately directed towards acquiring franchise cornerstone Jaren Jackson Jr., they were reduced to the role of a “room team” with only one powerful tool: the room exception.

Using this small chip, EVP Zach Kleiman made a daring, long-shot wager on guard Ty Jerome.

Even Kleiman was surprised that the Hail Mary play worked. A team’s pursuit of Jerome exemplifies how the market value of a player might differ from what the team believes the player is worth.

Internal expectations for Jerome were much higher than the deal the Grizzlies were able to give, as Kleiman revealed to ClutchPoints.

“Ty is someone that, as we entered free agency this offseason, we projected him at a higher level,” Kleiman noted.

We were planning to prioritise a re-negotiation and extension with Jaren Jackson Jr. and operate as a room team, thus the only free agent exemption we had was the room exception.

We fully expected Ty Jerome to be one of those players who would qualify for the mid-level exception.

The Grizzlies were up against teams that had more financial resources, and the room exemption is far less valuable than the mid-level.

Despite the lack of financial backing, Kleiman and Tuomas Iisalo proceeded to reach out in the hopes of finding a perfect match.
