Manuel Ugarte, a defender for Manchester United, said that one part of Ruben Amorim’s hiring to replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford has shocked his teammates.

The present manager of Sporting will take over at United on November 11, and he will get settled in during the next international break. He has signed a deal that keeps him there until June 2027.

For now, Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge of the first team until Amorim gets there. The 39-year-old’s first game will be on November 24 at Portman Road against Ipswich.

The manager of Sporting already has a great name as a manager, and his teams have won two league titles.

Now, Ugarte, who played for Sporting under Amorim from 2021–23 before going on to PSG, has said that United’s players have asked him about their new manager, and that his age has made some people look twice.

Everyone on my team has asked me a lot about him. “They were shocked by how old he was,” Ugarte told DAZN.

“He also wants to win a lot, which is very important.” I’m sure he’ll enjoy it.

According to him, his teammates were happy about the hire because the club needed to start making plans, which is important, and the coach would play a big role in that.

Although Ugarte, a defender, thinks Amorim will do well in his new job, he has told Old Trafford fans not to get too excited just yet because there will be a time for getting used to things.

“That’s understandable, because the coach is great,” he said of the angry Sporting fans. When something good happens for United, we need to make the most of it and get him to say what he wants as soon as possible.

“The day-to-day will be similar to Sporting’s, but I think the dynamic will be different.” The division, the country, the sport… Although it’s a big task, we all know he can do it.

Prior to starting his new job, Amorim has two more games as manager of Sporting. On Tuesday night, they play Manchester City in the Champions League in Lisbon, and on Sunday, they travel to Braga.

After that, it will be almost two weeks before his first United game at Portman Road. After that, they will play Bodo/Glimt, Everton, and Arsenal.

New things about Manchester United: Van Nistelrooy wants the team to stay, and Amorim wants to sign a prolific scorer.
Ruud van Nisterlooy, the temporary manager of Manchester United, has made it clear that he wants to stay at the club. He has said that his “focus” is only on staying there, even though he was “looking to manage” before coming back, and he has been granted that wish.

After Erik ten Hag was fired, Van Nistelrooy took over two United games. He was in management before becoming an assistant, and he said he wanted to keep going in that direction. However, the Dutchman now thinks staying at Old Trafford is best for him.

United has gotten a big boost from rumours about Viktor Gyokeres. Florian Plettenberg explained why he thinks Ruben Amorim has already chosen to make the Swedish player a top target, and another report said it is “certain” that Gyokeres will leave.
