Manchester United’s expected lineup to face Leicester City now that Ruud van Nistelrooy is in charge
There is still football to be played at Manchester United while they look for a new boss.
There hasn’t been much or any talk about the start of the Carabao Cup since Erik ten Hag was fired by Manchester United on Monday.
The fourth round is coming up, and Manchester United will play Leicester City at Old Trafford. The winner will move on to the quarterfinals.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge of the team when they play Leicester City. He was named temporary manager on Monday.
This Carabao Cup game could be Van Nistelrooy’s only chance to lead Manchester United. He is a legend at United.
This rests on when United can officially hire Ruben Amorim. The manager of Sporting Lisbon is supposed to start later this week, but there could still be delays.
The possible lineup for Manchester United vs. Leicester
While managers were talking, Van Nistelrooy trained on Monday and Tuesday to get ready for Wednesday night.
One change that will probably be made to Ten Hag’s team is the formation, which will be changed to match the 4-3-3 system that Van Nistelrooy often used at PSV.
Knowing that, this is how we think Van Nistelrooy will set up his team to play Leicester City.
Simply put, Altay Bayindir
You can’t argue with Andre Onana in goal, and that won’t change here. Van Nistelrooy is likely to want to make a statement and win, but he may also want to give Altay Bayindir some much-needed minutes.
Hector Diogo Dalot
Following Noussair Mazraoui’s injury against West Ham, Diogo Dalot should start at right back. Doing this gives Dalot a chance to please Amorim, who will be watching with great interest.
The Victor Lindelof
After the penalty call against Matthijs de Ligt on Sunday, he will be furious. But he won’t be able to make up for it here because we think Victor Lindelof will start instead.
Manuel Lisandro
Lisandro Martinez is likely to play with Lindelof because there aren’t many choices in central defense right now.
Hugh Amass
The first big surprise we think will happen is Harry Amass’s start. Left back needs a player with left foot. Even though there are concerns about his health, Amass gets the chance, especially since Mazraoui might not be able to play. This would also be Ruud’s big break, as he would play his first game in the school.
Manuel Ugarte
The center is where Manuel Ugarte is likely to start, which is a big change from when he played for Ten Hag. This is where Van Nistelrooy will make his mark. The arrival of Amorim is expected to be good for Ugarte.
Hans Christian Eriksen
Since Kobbie Mainoo, Dan Gore, and Toby Collyer are all out, there aren’t many choices in the middle of the field. This means that Christian Eriksen should start again.
Bruno Fernandes
Another midfielder who is expected to start again is Bruno Fernandes. He wants to lead United into the new era and show Amorim that he should be a key player.
Amad Diallo
All of us saw clips of Amad Diallo getting angry against Porto. At one point, Van Nistelrooy even tried to comfort him, so we think he will start on the right wing against Leicester.
Joshua Zirkzee
At some point, Van Nistelrooy might use a young player up front, but Joshua Zirkzee should start right away because he has two assists in two games.
Mark Rashford
Marc Rashford starts on the left wing instead of Alejandro Garnacho. Van Nistelrooy clearly likes the United No. 10 and wants him to score again and win Amorim’s favor right away.
