Roberto Martinez, the manager of Portugal, called Sporting Lisbon winger Geovany Quenda a player “with a spectacular future.” Manchester United is interested in signing him.

The Manchester Evening News said earlier this month that United are paying close attention to how the 17-year-old player grows.

United has been keeping an eye on Quenda, who can play a lot of different positions, since the beginning of the season. Ruben Amorim, who is now the head coach of United, put him on the Sporting first team. He has played 18 times in all categories so far this season.

Quenda, who will be 18 in April, was called up to the Portugal senior team for the first time because of how well he played for Sporting. He could make his start on Monday night when Portugal plays Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

In his pre-game press conference, Martinez was asked about the winger’s promise. He was quick to give the young player lots of praise.

Sanchez told Mais Futebol, “He fits in on the right wing, which is what we worked on in September.” “That’s the job that Quenda will do tomorrow.” He knows a lot about that job.

“He’s more than just a versatile player; he also brings balance and technical skill to the team.” This player has magic and can make the difference in the last third.

“He is a player with a spectacular future and his experience of being in the national team, whether he plays on the pitch or not, is important.”

Quenda, who used to play for Benfica before going to Sporting, would be perfect for the 3-4-3 formation that Amorim is likely to use at Old Trafford because he can play as both a wing-back and a winger.
