Manchester United set to step into negotiations with sensational player who is now a free agent

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are prepared to negotiate with one of France’s most talented midfielders.

The Red Devils have strengthened their midfield department by recruiting Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. It is anticipated that he will make his professional debut following the international break.

Nevertheless, the club is still being associated with a potential acquisition of Adrien Rabiot, who is currently a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired at the end of June.

United have received a “massive boost” in their pursuit of Rabiot, according to the Daily Star. Rabiot has previously declined lucrative offers from the Turkish Super Lig and Saudi Pro League.

United executives will engage in discussions with Rabiot, who was on the brink of joining the club in 2022. Erik ten Hag is striving to enhance his midfield options in anticipation of a season that will be both lengthy and demanding.

The Rabiot deal appears to be improbable as a result of demands

The France international was offered to United in July and August, but the club’s hierarchy declined to acquire him. Prior to the transfer deadline, they invested significantly in Ugarte.

The speculation regarding his affiliation with United has not been resolved. We believe that the Red Devils are unlikely to alter their posture unless Rabiot reduces the current demands on the table.

Rabiot’s mother, Veronique, is his representative, and Calciomercato has reported that the Juventus player is seeking a signing-on fee of £12.66 million and a weekly salary of £162,000.

United is unlikely to spend that much, as the midfielder will turn 30 in April of next year.

The Red Devils have altered their transfer policy under INEOS to prioritise younger players; however, they may proceed with a transaction if Rabiot agrees to a signing-on fee that is significantly reduced.

David Trezequet has praised Rabiot as “world-class.” His grappling and duel-winning abilities would make him a valuable addition; however, he is not the most proficient with the ball in his hands.
