Manchester United player ratings vs Everton (2-0) – B. Fernandes, M. Rashford scores penalty shot
Everton lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford in their second-to-last Premier League game of the month.
United only won by at least two goals six times this season, and the wins came thanks to penalties from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in the first half.
Everton played with a lot of heart, but their finishing wasn’t very good. They have now lost their last 11 league games and are without a win.
Tottenham is now three points behind United in fifth place. On Sunday, Tottenham will go to fourth-placed Aston Villa.
Erik ten Hag kept the same team from the Manchester derby, and here’s how the United players did:
Irene Onana
Carefully handled when needed, but didn’t have to make many saves because Everton was wasting chances and not pressing. 7
João Dalot
He wasn’t as clever as he could have been in the final third, and he missed some good chances to pass. In defense, not tried. 6
Raphaël Varane
A calm showing, even though he played against Beto for an hour while Beto couldn’t do anything until Dominic Calvert-Lewin came on. 7
Jonathon Evans
The evergreen Ulsterman put in another great effort. His distribution was just as good as his defense. 8
The Victor Lindelof
He got off to a bad start, but Everton never took advantage of him, and he even had a chance to score near the end of the first half. 6
This is Casemiro
So careless that he had his hands on his hips during one break, which could have been because he didn’t like how he was playing. He’ll have to get better next week. 5
The Kobbie Mainoo
It was another average game at home, but United’s front three were clever enough that Mainoo didn’t have to do much. 6
Diego Alejandro Garnacho
Won both of the first-half penalties, but he made bad decisions when there were chances to score inside the box before and after the break. 8
Fernandes Bruno
Coolly scored from the penalty spot, came close with a free kick, and forced Jordan Pickford to make another great save. The work of a captain. 8
Mark Rashford
He scored his own penalty and got a lot of praise for going back in the 40th minute. Another afternoon full of hope. 7
Joe McTominay Scott
As hardworking as ever, he played in Garnacho with a cute ball, but it was clear that he wasn’t very good at it. 6
Subs
By Sofyan Amrabat
It’s better than last week. 6
John Antony
Not very exciting option. 5
The Willy Kambwala
Cameo late. 6
In charge of
As expected, kept the same team, and United had two easy chances when James Tarkowski and Ben Godfrey both fouled Garnacho. Not able to reach the 250 mark for academy graduate starts. 6
