Manchester United
Manchester United places a £50 million price tag on sensational player prior to his shocking January exit.
It was anticipated that Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United would continue its winning ways in his second campaign after a successful debut season in which the club qualified for the Champions League and won the Carabao Cup.
However, the club has gotten off to a disastrous start to the new season due to injuries and lackluster form.
Due to firefighting in every department, the Dutchman has never been able to select his strongest starting eleven, nor has he identified his ideal midfield combination.
A significant factor contributing to Manchester United’s sluggish start has been Casemiro’s lackluster performances, considering he was instrumental in the club’s previous campaign.
Difficulties for Casemiro and a potential exit
As reported by TeamTalk, the injured former Real Madrid superstar is dissatisfied with the club’s current trajectory and “has grown tired of training conditions.” Saudi Arabian clubs are also reportedly interested in the player.
The latest report suggests United have set their price for the 31-year-old midfield general, who was acquired for £70 million in the summer of 2022. The Peoples Person had previously reported that the general wishes to remain and compete for a starting position.
The former Real Madrid icon has been valued at £50 million by the Red Devils, who are even contemplating other options prior to the January transfer window.
“According to information obtained by TEAMtalk, Manchester United are willing to let Casemiro leave during the January transfer window and have valued the Brazilian at £50 million.”
“According to sources who spoke to TEAMtalk, the club is considering alternatives for the Brazilian and is considering a January sale in order to assist Erik ten Hag’s squad obtain fresh legs as they attempt to qualify for the Champions League next season.
“Saudi Arabia is a legitimate option for one of the most decorated players in the world, with four clubs considering an approach in January after being led to believe a dialogue is possible and the defensive midfielder could join a number of SPL heavyweights.”
The asking price for Casemiro has been established, and alternative options are being considered.
Intriguingly, there are even rumors that Paris Saint-Germain admires the player; however, given their FFP woes in January, such a move seems improbable.
Joao Neves of Benfica appears to be the most favored candidate among the alternatives under consideration, as club captain Bruno Fernandes has praised the adolescent sensation.
In light of the club’s challenges and the notoriously difficult winter transfer market, United should attempt to retain the five-time Champions League champion, given his pedigree and the other midfielders’ lackluster performances.
The Brazilian appears to have lost a yard of speed, and by failing to restrain his aggressive instincts, he has frequently abandoned his post, making it difficult to monitor runners.
A thorough reorganization of the club’s transfer hierarchy subsequent to the appointment of Sir Jim Ratcliffe will enable the organization to deliberate carefully on its next move prior to the summer of 2020.
