Manchester United is poised to sign additional Mikel Arteta staff member as Gary O’Driscoll seeks to bring in former colleague.
According to reports, Arsenal physio Jordan Reece will be leaving the club to join Manchester United.
Last summer, the Red Devils appointed Arsenal physician Gary O’Driscoll, ending his fourteen-year tenure with the north London club.
He has extensive experience in elite sport, having worked with the British Lions, Ireland Rugby, Saracens, and British Cycling. He arrived from Arsenal with a reputation as one of the most progressive physicians on the Premier League circuit.
O’Driscoll is presently spearheading a restructuring of the medical department at United, which has become “outdated” in light of a series of injury concerns that have emerged recently.
Additionally, he has sought the assistance of Reece, a former colleague, in order to facilitate this procedure.
O’Driscoll is ideally suited to revolutionize United’s medical division, which numerous insiders have deemed “outdated,” due to his contemporary approach.
Reece will assume the position of chief physiotherapist at United, succeeding Robin Sadler, who departed the organization in January.
Presently under way are concluding contract negotiations for Reece, whose start date has not yet been determined.
This action is taken in response to concerns that United’s competitors’ substantially greater sports medicine expertise could hinder the Old Trafford club’s performance on the field.
