Manchester United injury update: Rasmus Hojlund, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro latest news and return dates
Manchester United enters the international break as one of the Premier League’s most impressive teams, despite the rumors of an impending crisis.
Although Saturday’s triumph over Luton at Old Trafford was not particularly sensational, four of the last five League games have been won by Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Consequently, notwithstanding a predominantly dismal beginning to the season, a challenge for the top four is not entirely implausible.
In order to analyze United’s shaky start, context must also be considered. While a number of key players have been sidelined by injuries for Ten Hag, the issues that have developed at the club’s upper echelons appear to be considerably more pervasive.
Amidst ongoing absences, the following are the most recent Manchester United injuries.
Rasmus Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund was substituted in the Denmark match against Luton with a hamstring injury and has since withdrawn from duty during the international break.
“At this time, I am unable to comment because I am unaware of the evaluation,” ten Hag stated on Saturday.
“Paid time is twenty-four hours.” “Allow them and the medical team twenty-four hours to determine the nature of the issue, should one exist.”
Date of possible return: Unknown
Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen, who appeared to have sustained a knee injury, was also sidelined on Saturday. He too, similar to Hojlund, withdrew from the Danish squad.
Date of possible return: Unknown
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Saturday’s victory was missed due to illness for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is anticipated to return following the international break.
Possible return date: November 26th, Sunday, against Everton
Luke Shaw
Due to a muscle injury, England international Luke Shaw has only appeared twice this season; however, there is optimism that he will make his return following the international break.
Possible return date: November 26th, Sunday, against Everton
Jonny Evans
Since his summer return to United, Jonny Evans has reestablished himself in the starting lineup. However, he sustained an injury during the dramatic Champions League loss to Copenhagen and is anticipated to miss several weeks.
Possible date of return: December
Casemiro
Casemiro, an influential midfielder, sustained a hamstring injury earlier this month in the Carabao Cup and will likely miss the majority of December.
Earlier this month, ten Hag stated, “I’m always a little bit reticent on such matters.”
“I anticipate the return of some, but Casemiro and Martinez, for example, have extremely serious injuries; I do not anticipate their return before Christmas.”
January is a potential resume date.
Lisandro Martinez
Similar to Casemiro, Martinez appears unlikely to make another appearance this season due to foot injury surgery.
January is a potential resume date.
