Lisandro Martinez hasn’t been able to play for Manchester United for eight weeks because of an injury he got in February against West Ham United.

Lisandro Martinez is about to play for Manchester United again after being out for eight weeks. The game against Brentford will be his first return to the team.

Martinez has been out with a medial collateral ligament injury since the win over West Ham on February 4, but he worked with the ball during Argentina’s early-month training practices. Erik ten Hag, the boss of United, wasn’t clear about which players were available.

Casemiro (hamstring) and Jonny Evans (knock) missed England’s 1-0 loss to Brazil last week in the FA Cup, and Harry Maguire left the game hurt in their win over Liverpool. Ten Hag made it clear that some players would be brought back to the team at the Gtech Community Stadium. United will have one more practice on Friday.

“Players are coming back; they are on the field,” Ten Hag stated. “They are back working out as a team.” We still have one more practice, but tomorrow, most likely, some players will be back with the team.

“Yes, there’s a chance Martinez will come back.” We missed him at every game because he keeps the team calm. At the same time, he has a winning attitude and can say it very clearly. He helps our levels a lot.”

England boss Gareth Southgate said Luke Shaw might not be able to play in all of their games at the European Championship because he has a muscle problem and won’t be able to play for United until early May. Shaw hasn’t played for United since February 11 because of an injury. He met up with the England team at St. George’s Park before their recent matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Shaw is still on track to play again this season, according to Ten Hag: “Yes, I expect him back before the end of the season. He is still on schedule and will return to our team.”

After beating Liverpool, United was in a great mood going into the spring internationals. Ten Hag was very happy about the break. “Going into an international break with a win is always a good thing. More so with this kind of win.”

“Players go on international duty and play for other teams with different systems and ways of doing things. Now that they’re back, we need to get back to where we were.” Bring them back to our team and way of playing. We began this process yesterday; it only took a short time, but we’ll be ready tomorrow.
