Galatasaray and Manchester United intend to negotiate a transfer for Donny van de Beek.

Galatasaray and Manchester United are eager to finalize the transfer of Donny van de Beek prior to their Champions League match. This season, Van de Beek has appeared in just two minutes of senior team football for United across all competitions.

November 29 finds Manchester United hosting Galatasaray at the inhospitable RAMS Park Stadium in a must-win Champions League away match. In the Champions League, the Red Devils are positioned to be eliminated early prior to the quarterfinal stages.

United have suffered three defeats and secured a single victory in the Champions League. At this time, they are situated in the fourth position, two games adrift of Galatasaray.

For their final match at Old Trafford, the Manchester titans will confront Bayern Munich. The German titans have emerged victorious in each of their last four Champions League matches.

According to the Turkish sports news website Sporx, Galatasaray intends to acquire Van de Beek in January, during the forthcoming transfer window. During the summer, Galatasaray reportedly attempted to acquire the 26-year-old on loan from United, according to The Athletic.

In the summer of 2020, United acquired Van de Beek from Ajax for £35.7 million under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjaer remained unimpressed with the Dutchman’s performance until the 2021-22 season, when United’s dismal performance led to the Norwegian’s dismissal.

Failing to earn playing time, the 26-year-old’s difficulties persisted during the tenures of interim managers Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick.

Van de Beek has continued to struggle under United manager Erik ten Hag, despite having been a member of his squad during their time together at Ajax. Indeed, it was Van de Beek’s exploits during his tenure under Ten Hag at Ajax that garnered the attention of United.

Being in the pinnacle of his profession, the Dutchman must engage in consistent football activity. The athlete and the club will both benefit from a transfer away from Old Trafford. He can secure consistent first-team playing time and an ongoing opportunity to represent Galatasaray in the Champions League.
