Manchester City want world-class superstar who could become the fastest player in the Premier League: report
Manchester City, which has long been affiliated with a super speed merchant, is now intensifying its pursuit of re-acquiring him.
Manchester City is interested in signing a player who, if acquired, has the potential to become the Premier League’s fastest player.
The defending champions have already secured Kyle Walker, who ran a sprint of 37.31 km/h last season to become the Premier League’s fastest player. Brennan Johnson and Mykhaylo Mudryk placed second and third, respectively.
However, with Pep Guardiola seeking to add another dimension to his squad and Jeremy Doku’s acquisition resulting in the introduction of another sprinter, Manchester City could acquire another player even more quickly.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, according to recent reports in the Spanish publication AS. Guardiola’s squad is still without a natural left-back.
This season, Josko Gvardiol has made appearances in that position; however, given his natural tendency to play as a central defender, it is uncertain whether City could pursue a more suitable replacement. Davies has been a member of that squad ever since the 2019/20 season, during which he led Bayern to the treble.
In contrast, Guardiola has frequently filled the position with midfielders or right-backs instead of natural left-backs during his tenure at City. Notable examples include Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo.
According to the report, Davies has not yet made a decision regarding his future, and Real Madrid has also been linked with an offer to acquire his services.
Transfermarkt assigns a value of €70 million to the Canadian.
