Manchester City are planning a swoop for a 31-goal attacker this summer

According to reports, Manchester City is interested in the promising Wolfsburg teenager Dzenan Pejcinovic this summer.

The 19-year-old striker scored 31 goals in just 21 appearances across all competitions for the U19s during the 2023/24 minor campaign for Die Wölfe.

Pejcinovic has already appeared in five senior matches for Wolfsburg, but he has yet to score. Additionally, he sustained a fractured metatarsal late in the season.

Nevertheless, this does not appear to have diminished Man City’s interest in Pejcinovic, who has scored 38 goals in 38 caps for Germany at various junior levels and is also eligible for Montenegro.

Manchester City are reportedly interested in selling Pejcinovic this summer, as per a report from the German outlet Kicker.

Nevertheless, it is improbable that the Premier League champions will be able to acquire the teenager’s signature at a reduced cost, as he is currently under contract with the northern German side until 2027.

It has also become evident that Pejcinovic is prepared to regularly transition to senior football, given his performance at the junior level.

Moving to a Manchester City team that includes Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez would undoubtedly impede those prospects in the short term. Pejcinovic, who was previously affiliated with FC Augsburg, is expected to require a loan to continue his development.
