Keith Wyness, the former CEO of Everton, has asserted that it will be difficult for Ederson, the shot-stopper for Man City, to decline a lucrative Saudi Pro League offer.

In the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old, who previously served as CEO at Everton and Aston Villa and currently operates a football consultancy that provides guidance to elite clubs, including those in Saudi Arabia, disclosed that there have been “positive discussions” between the 30-year-old’s representatives regarding the transfer.

On May 30, Football Insider disclosed that Manchester City are contemplating the sale of their first-choice custodian, Ederson.

He has garnered significant attention in Saudi Arabia and is rumoured to be contemplating the advantages of relocating to the Middle East.

Al Nassr has reportedly offered Ederson £900,000 per week (equivalent to nearly £47 million annually) to become a member of the club, according to The Daily Star (6 July).

Al Nassr has already signed Sadio Mane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Aymeric Laporte, a former City teammate.

In recent years, Wyness asserted that the Saudi side has rendered their facilities “incredibly” enhanced.

He stated on the Insider Track podcast of Football Insider: “We could now observe some movement on that.”

“I believe there is a possibility that he will travel to Saudi Arabia.”

“All of the discussions and rumours emanating from him are quite optimistic.”

“I have visited Al Nassr.” I have observed the stadium and the entire facility, and they have made significant improvements since Ronaldo’s arrival.

“During my time there, there was a significant amount of construction.”

“The figures are extraordinary.” At his age, it is exceedingly challenging for a custodian to decline such an offer.
