Man Utd vs Liverpool Confirmed Starting XI: with key players missing in action
In today’s Premier League match at Old Trafford, Manchester United will host their archrivals, Liverpool.
Last weekend, the Red Devils were defeated by Brighton & Hove Albion by a score of 2-1 in the final minutes. They will endeavour to atone for their actions against Arne Slot’s team.
United will be eager to conclude the sequence with a victory, as Liverpool is one of only two teams to have had a flawless start to the campaign.
The league meetings were shared by United and Liverpool last term; however, they emerged victorious in the FA Cup quarter-final following a dramatic late Amad goal in extra time.
Erik ten Hag has implemented three modifications to the starting lineup in anticipation of the Northwest Derby that is scheduled to take place today.
Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot will continue to play in the right and left back positions, respectively, for the third consecutive game, while Andre Onana will serve as the custodian.
Nevertheless, the defense’s core has undergone a transformation. Matthijs de Ligt will be partnered with Lisandro Martinez in his entire debut. Harry Maguire is relegated to the sideline.
Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo will serve as United’s central midfielders, while Bruno Fernandes will assume his customary position as the number 10 due to Mason Mount’s injury. Joshua Zirkzee will make his official debut at the forefront.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have been selected to play on the left and right wings, respectively. Amad has been regrettably omitted, despite his goal at Brighton.
Man Utd’s official lineup (4-2-3-1) is as follows: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Zirkzee.
In the interim, Liverpool has maintained their approach from their most recent victory over Brentford.
The starting lineup includes Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in the fullback positions, with Alisson in goal. Ibrahima Konate will be the companion of Virgil van Dijk in the central backline.
The central core of the park will consist of Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister, with Dominik Szoboszlai occupying the number 10 position. As is customary, Mohamed Salah and Luiz Diaz initiate play from the wide position.
Darwin Nunez will be preceded by Diogo Jota as the primary striker.
Liverpool’s official lineup (4-2-3-1) is as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota.
