Man United legend Rio Ferdinand fires at Jamie Carragher for insulting remarks concerning Casemiro and Man United
Rio Ferdinand has condemned Jamie Carragher’s prior statements regarding Manchester United’s loss to Liverpool.
United suffered a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford to their bitter rivals in the Premier League on Sunday. Critiques have been directed at Erik ten Hag, the manager, and numerous members of the United squad as a consequence of the defeat.
Casemiro was one player who was criticised for his performance against Liverpool. The Brazilian was involved in a possession loss prior to the visitors scoring their first two goals. He was subsequently substituted at halftime by Toby Collyer.
Casemiro’s performance against Liverpool was evaluated by Carragher, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, and Daniel Sturridge. The analysis served as a reminder of a previous statement made by Carragher during the previous season, in which he declared, “Leave the football before the football leaves you.”
Ferdinand was contemplating Casemiro’s performance against Liverpool when he was reminded of Carragher’s previous remarks regarding the midfielder. Ferdinand expressed his dissatisfaction with Carragher’s comments and elaborated on his conviction that the evaluation of Casemiro was unjust.
“I found Jamie Carragher’s statement, ‘Leave the football before the football leaves you,’ to be highly disrespectful,” Ferdinand stated on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“I just think it’s really disrespectful, especially given what my man’s [Casemiro] won.”
Ferdinand further stated, “There is more to it than the mere fact that he has made a few errors.” He has been arguably Man United’s finest player in the two games prior to Liverpool, which were against Fulham and Brighton.
“I believe it is more straightforward to assert that he has departed, is no longer present, or is too advanced in age.” I am under the impression that he is being requested to perform a variety of tasks, such as directing the tempo and playing 30-yard balls. These are positions for which Man United would never have considered recruiting him.
“He was never requested to perform this task at Real Madrid.” He was responsible for the cleanup, security in front of the defence, slide tackling, and covering all openings before transferring the ball to other individuals to play football.
“But he’s being asked now to do things that he’s never done before, so he’s going to make mistakes because that’s not his natural game.”
