Manchester United
Man United fans just made their minds up about the Glazers’ lack of care, and it says it all.
New owners in Manchester United They are working hard to fix the damage done to the club, but it’s not easy.
Getting the athletes to do well on the field is only one part of the puzzle for Ineos. It’s time to do a lot of work to improve and rebuild the club’s foundation.
The chance for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team to choose a new stadium is one that will never come up again. The billionaire’s reputation will be shaped by this project.
It is up to Ineos to decide if they want to build a new stadium. This is the most bold choice, but it would also cost the most. In terms of history, it is also the most disputed.
New Manchester United stadium
A debate has been going on, and Manchester United recently released the results of a poll of fans.
A new stadium was chosen for by 52% of fans. Thirty people chose to fix up the current Old Trafford, while seventeen said they didn’t know.
The fact that most people support the project is enough for Ineos to go ahead with building a new stadium. What if 90% of people were against? The idea might have been shelved right there.
Still, it’s not a huge majority; people are still divided.
For Manchester United, leaving Old Trafford is not something they can do easily.
It has been around for a long time and has seen some of the best football players in the world, including club stars like George Best, Bobby Charlton, Eric Cantona, and Wayne Rooney.
Old Trafford made it through WWII. But it might not make it through the Glazers.
Moving stadiums
The hard choice is to leave Old Trafford. There isn’t a single Manchester United fan who wants to leave the club’s past behind and start over at a soulless new stadium.
Still, Manchester United fans are okay with the choice because they know it has to be made for the team to get back to the top.
The Manchester United club says it is the biggest in the world. However, Old Trafford is not the best stadium by any means, even though it has the most seats of any club stadium in England.
United is falling behind. There are cracks in Old Trafford. We’ve all seen videos of seats falling off their hinges and rain pouring from the roof like a stream. I feel bad about it.
Over the past 20 years, the Glazers, who own the stadium, have not put any money into it to show that they are committed to any kind of innovation or improvement.
Things might be different now if they had come in 2005 with the same desire to spend as Ineos did in 2024.
Years of not taking care of the problems have made them worse, and making things better is now more important and costs more. If the stadium had been fixed up and updated all the time for 20 years, no one would be talking about getting a new one now.
Now it has, and fans of Manchester United have said they want to leave. While this sounds good in theory, it will be painful and sad to do in real life. It’s a jump into the unknown. Not necessary, but possible.
The fans’ decision for a new stadium shows that they need one, not want one, and that they are afraid that repairs won’t be enough at this point.
This is a very bad decision for the Glazers and how little they have done and cared for the club since they took over as guardians. Fans didn’t want to have to make this choice.
