Man United could face ‘Champions League sanctions’ after Sir Jim Ratcliffe takover
Reports indicate that Manchester United could be suspended from the Champions League if the 25% purchase by Sir Jim Ratcliffe is finalized.
According to reports, Manchester United may be barred from the Champions League as a result of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment. There are rumors that Ratcliffe’s ownership of Nice could disqualify the Red Devils from competing in Europe’s premier club competition the following season.
Ratcliffe intends to acquire a 25% stake in Manchester United for £1.3 billion. The confirmation of the news that will put an end to the year-long Old Trafford takeover saga is anticipated within the coming days.
However, a significant concern that may arise in the future is participation in Europe. Additionally, Ratcliffe and his company INEOS own the French Ligue 1 club Nice, which has gotten off to a strong start this season.
The’multi-club ownership regulations’ of UEFA prohibit the participation of two clubs owned by the same individual in the same competition. The Sun reports that United could be barred from participating in the Champions League the following season as a result.
