Man City present player in Barcelona swap deal as Guardiola plots ‘summer madness’ for English man
According to reports, Manchester City is attempting to negotiate a trade agreement for Frenkie de Jong by offering Bernardo Silva as a substitute.
Arsenal was defeated by the Citizens by two points on the final day of the season, resulting in the Citizens being crowned the champions of England once more.
Man City have solidified their status as one of the most elite teams in Europe by winning the Treble in 2023, despite their loss to arch-rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

Pep Guardiola has achieved unparalleled success as the manager of the Citizens, which has sparked speculation that he may depart when his contract expires at the conclusion of the upcoming season.
This has prompted speculation that some of Guardiola’s most talented players may opt to depart the club this summer, with Silva being the most frequently discussed potential departure.
And now, according to reports in Spain, Manchester City has extended a “offer” to Barcelona midfielder De Jong, which involves a sum of money and the Portugal international.
Guardiola is reportedly “extremely interested” in De Jong, with Man City being the “latest” in a lengthy line of suitors that includes Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.
The manager of Manchester City is seeking a “luxury partner” for Rodri, as Barcelona is no longer opposed to selling him if it is used to bring in multiple reinforcements.
Barcelona continues to request €90 million for De Jong, a sum that is considered “prohibitive” by the majority of clubs. Man City is willing to pay €30 million in addition to Silva for the Netherlands international.
Xavi was less enthusiastic about the prospect of signing Silva than Hansi Flick, as the former were unable to “forgive the betrayal” of the Portugal international’s flirtation with Real Madrid regarding a potential transfer.
Man City will now seek attacking reinforcements from other sources, as other reports in Spain suggest that Guardiola and the Citizens are preparing a “summer madness” for Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze.
The Citizens have expressed their willingness to pay the Eagles €90m for Eze, following their refusal to pay €70m last summer. This season, the new England international has contributed 11 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances.
According to Guardiola, the prospective acquisition of Eze is “one of his last wishes in a transfer market,” and Man City “appear to be in the strongest position to secure his signature.”
The report also states that “His capacity to score goals, create opportunities, and handle the ball has captivated the attention of numerous prominent clubs.”
