Manchester City reportedly attended Georgia’s 3-1 loss to Spain in order to observe Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in action.

This is from 90 minutes in, when City was among the teams scouting the hero from Napoli who scored in a Euro 2024 qualifying match against Luis de la Fuente’s team.

Leroy Sane is reportedly a goal for Pep Guardiola and company to sign in the summer, suggesting that they have their sights set on expanding their lineup wide. This information surfaced on Thursday.

Unquestionably one of the top wingers in Europe, the 22-year-old has been dubbed “special” by Jamie Carragher (via CBS Sports Golazo).

The Georgian international finished in 17th place in the official Ballon d’Or rankings, ahead of players like Jude Bellingham (18th), Harry Kane (19th), and Antoine Griezmann (21st), after leading Napoli to a much-needed Serie A triumph the previous season.

Now, it’s been disclosed that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s Sunday match against Spain was observed by Manchester City representatives.

But officials from other Premier League teams, like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United, were also there to witness the young player.

Kvaratskhelia’s current contract with Napoli expires in 2027, but according to the article, he is reportedly in talks to extend it by an additional year.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s position in this team is unclear unless Manchester City intends to turn Jeremy Doku into a right winger.

Naturally, the highly-regarded wide player may start ahead of Doku on his preferred left side, but it raises concerns regarding Grealish’s playing time the next season.

Although Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be a fantastic addition to the Etihad Stadium, it’s arguable if the team should make his arrival a top priority.
