Man City could face troubles signing Bundesliga star

According to reports, Manchester City believes that a summer transfer for a specific Bayern Munich player is too complex to complete.

In recent years, the Citizens have demonstrated that they are not opposed to the acquisition of relatively youthful players from clubs throughout Europe.

For instance, the Blues spent a combined total of £127m during the previous summer transfer window to sign Josko Gvardiol, who arrived from Rennes at the age of 21, and Jeremy Doku, who joined from RB Leipzig at the same age.

City has been recently linked to another young player who is currently tearing it up in one of Europe’s top five divisions. Some behind-the-scenes details have emerged as another summer transfer window is approaching.

The Manchester club has recently been interested in the following players in anticipation of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to a recent report from The Athletic.

It stated, “The City examined Jamal Musiala, 21, but it appears to be an undertaking that is beyond their capabilities.”

In April, it was reported that City were considering a summer transfer for the midfielder, as Pep Guardiola was purportedly seeking additional options for the attacking-midfield area.

In 163 senior appearances for Bayern, who are currently managed by former City captain Vincent Kompany, Musiala has contributed 31 assists and scored 43 goals in all competitions.

Musiala has enjoyed an exceptional season with Bayern.
In his most recent season with the German club, the 21-year-old started 33 of the 38 games in which he appeared, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists.

Musiala and former City winger Leroy Sane both concluded the campaign with the joint-highest total of goal-creating actions (18) in the Bayern squad, spanning 24 Bundesliga games.

Additionally, he secured more clearances in the midfield third of the pitch (21) than any other player at the German club.

This emphasizes his offensive capabilities and his abilities to recover the ball for his team when he is not in possession.

It is also reasonable to presume that Kompany and Bayern would prefer to retain Musiala this summer rather than sell him to one of their European rivals. This may be the reason why it has been reported that City is facing a challenging transfer deal.
