Man City boss Guardiola promises €60m Barcelona target a guaranteed starting spot in City’s midfield

Barcelona has been shown “no mercy” by Pep Guardiola, who has “promised” Hansi Flick’s top midfield target that he will be a “undisputed starter” if he joins Manchester City this summer.

After succeeding Xavi as manager at the Nou Camp, Flick is eager to establish his own influence on the Barcelona squad. However, he is confronted with the obstacle of operating within a restricted budget.

Raphinha, Ronald Araujo, and Jules Kounde are among the high-profile players that the current squad will accept reasonable offers for, according to reports. There are very few untransferable players in the squad.

Kimmich is “practically impossible” for Barcelona.
The German coach is determined to bring Joshua Kimmich to Barcelona this summer, as the 29-year-old was a key member of the team that achieved the treble at Bayern Munich.

Nevertheless, Spanish reports indicate that Barcelona and Kimmich have not made the anticipated progress in their discussions, and that Kimmich has become a “practically impossible objective.”

Kimmich rejected their initial offer immediately, as he desires a “substantially higher salary” than Barcelona is willing to offer. Bayern Munich, despite reports that they were previously amenable to his sale, “now refuse to provide him with any opportunities.”

It is somewhat surprising that Kimmich has only one year remaining on his contract; however, the new manager, Vincent Kompany, is expecting to persuade the Germany international to extend his stay.

If Kimmich does decline a new contract, Bayern will consider proposals; however, Barcelona’s financial capabilities are again exceeded by €60 million.

Barcelona are persuaded that they “can’t compete with Guardiola,” while City are “enormously seduced.” However, City’s spending is well within their means, assuming they have any money remaining after the lawyer fees.

The report asserts that City “intend to close” a deal with Kimmich as soon as possible. Guardiola has already spoken to him in order to convince him that the Etihad is the right location for him.

Guardiola has “promised” the Bayern star that he will be a “undisputed starter” in his midfield alongside Rodri, and Kimmich is “enormously seduced” by the prospect of playing for City and working under him once again.
