The first summer signing of Manchester City is expected to disappoint those who anticipate his participation in the forthcoming pre-season tour of the United States.

Pep Guardiola and his players are expected to recommence their responsibilities at the City Football Academy early next week. They will first spend a few days at their Manchester training base before crossing the Atlantic to embark on a pre-season tour of the United States.

Manchester City’s executives have scheduled a four-game tour of the east coast of the United States, where they will compete against some of Europe’s most prominent clubs at numerous iconic venues. The Etihad club will be catering to their swiftly expanding American fanbase.

Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Manchester City supporters who are observing the club’s return to the United States may not be able to observe any new faces in the Sky Blue uniform, despite the optimism that the US tour could serve as the debut for numerous new signings.

This is despite Manchester City being on the brink of signing the first acquisition of the summer market, ESTAC Troyes forward Savio, who is expected to join Pep Guardiola’s project in a high-profile deal valued at approximately £40 million, within the City Football Group.

However, journalist Rômulo Giacomin has reported that Savio, who is anticipated to sign his new City contract in the near future, will not be included in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States this summer.

The aforementioned Brazilian international will not be present when Manchester City resume pre-season training on Monday, July 15. He will only begin training with Pep Guardiola’s team upon their return from their pre-season tour of the United States.

Savinho is currently on vacation after his impressive performance with Brazil at the Copa America. He will be utilising his allotted downtime to ensure that he returns to the football pitch rejuvenated and rested for the demanding schedule of Manchester City.

The player is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium in the upcoming days and weeks, commiting to the club until the summer of 2029 at the latest. It is understood that City intend to retain his talents this season.

There was some speculation in various circles that Manchester City may consider loaning the player to one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe for the upcoming season. However, the club has decided to incorporate him into their forward line, which already includes Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

Currently, Pep Guardiola’s assessment of Savio’s positional availability is uncertain; however, assessments will undoubtedly be conducted upon his arrival at the City Football Academy in August.
