Harvey Elliott of Liverpool could only momentarily quiet the boo boys with two outstanding goals for the England under-21s.

Elliott’s two goals assisted England in their Under-21 European Championship qualifier victory over Northern Ireland at Goodison Park, which they won 3-0.

Elliott scored both England’s first and second goals on a dead ball at 52 minutes, curling the ball exquisitely past Northern Ireland custodian Josh Clarke from 25 yards out.

Elliott’s impressive performance at Goodison Park elicited some applause from the crowd, but those applause quickly transformed into jeers.

Boos were heard at Everton’s home field following the identification of the goalscorer, according to the Liverpool ECHO; Elliott was also subjected to booing earlier in the match.

Elliott scored the game’s third goal for Lee Carsley’s side with a delightful dink on a pass from Tyler Morton in the 80th minute. However, protests were reportedly still audible after Elliott’s name was announced as the scorer.

The protests may have been caused by the fact that Elliott works for Liverpool, an opponent of Everton. Nevertheless, despite starting the game, Morton and Jarell Quansah, who are also members of the Reds, did not encounter the same level of animosity.

Morton scored the opening goal for the Young Lions with a precisely-placed shot from the periphery of the box.

With a record of twond place in their qualifying group, England have amassed five victories out of five. Their sole point deduction occurred in October when they suffered a 3-2 loss to Ukraine, the current leaders of Group F.
