Liverpool offer a whooping sum to Real Madrid for star with Haaland to ‘fill gap’ if Reds sign forward
Liverpool has reportedly submitted a £100 million offer to Real Madrid for Rodrygo, with the intention of reinvesting the funds in Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
Liverpool has been associated with numerous attacking players, with Rodrygo being considered a top target.
The Brazilian may depart Real Madrid this summer in the wake of Kylian Mbappe’s acquisition, while Palmeiras and Brazil’s promising youngster, Endrick, will also officially join next month.
Rodrygo will likely be the player whose minutes are significantly reduced, as competition for positions will be intense. However, Joselu is not included. The minutes of Joselu are bound to increase.
Madrid is expected to be amenable to selling the 23-year-old for the appropriate price, which is reportedly €150 million (£126 million).
Liverpool has submitted a proposal for Rodrygo in the amount of £100 million, as per Spanish reports. However, Real Madrid has “rejected” the offer and is seeking an additional £26 million.
Rodrygo’s “inopportune statements” prior to the Champions League final victory over Borussia Dortmund have reportedly placed Madrid “on alert.” They are “willing to transfer him” if their valuation is met.
The Brazilian winger is “willing to leave” if he is no longer a starter in Carlo Ancelotti’s attack, despite the fact that leaving Madrid is not his favored option this summer. Consequently, a transfer is more likely.
Rodrygo is reportedly attracted to the prospect of playing in the Premier League, which is a positive development for Liverpool, despite being under contract for an additional four years.
The 23-year-old’s prospective departure could prompt Madrid to make a bid for their star player, Haaland, and Manchester City are also believed to be monitoring his situation.
The report asserts that Rodrygo’s departure “would create an opportunity for Haaland.”
Madrid would likely reinvest the funds in the Norwegian striker, who has the potential to cover the void that Rodrygo may leave.
Haaland has been a target for Los Blancos for “several seasons” as the Manchester City sensation “continues to wink at the Whites from Manchester.”
Similar to Kylian Mbappe, it appears that Haaland will be joining Real Madrid.
