Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher sent out a depression message to Jurgen Kloop and the team after their defeat by Manchester United in the FA CUP quarter final
Liverpool lost 4-3 to Manchester United in extra time in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of a quadruple were dashed when Liverpool gave up two goals in extra time.
When Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team lost late to Manchester United in the FA Cup quarterfinals, Liverpool great Jamie Carragher got very angry.
In normal time, it looked like the Reds would be going to Wembley. But Antony scored late, making it 2-2, and the game went to extra time. Liverpool was once again on their way to the semi-finals after Harvey Elliott’s shot was blocked, but they would soon lose.
Marcus Rashford tied the game with eight minutes left in the extra 30 minutes. In stoppage time, Liverpool was caught on the counterattack, and Amad won the game. Klopp had hoped to end his time in Merseyside with the quadruple, but this season his team is only fighting on two more fronts.
After the game, Carragher was able to say what most fans were thinking. In a tweet, he said, “Unbelievable game. Great win for Man United, but Liverpool only have themselves to blame.”
“Scored three goals, but all of their attackers were very bad.” They’ve been great all season, so I can’t really complain.
At the end of the post, he wrote just three words: “Football, bloody hell.” Due to their loss in the FA Cup, the Reds are now only interested in the Premier League and the Europa League.
Klopp’s team is currently in second place in the Premier League, one point behind United States, but only behind Arsenal in terms of goal difference. The Europa League match between Liverpool and Atalanta will take place in two games in the middle of April.
