Jurgen Klopp is leaving his job as manager of Liverpool this summer, and he has backed a name that a lot of people know.

As a “stand-out” option, Jurgen Klopp thinks that Liverpool should hire Xabi Alonso as his replacement this summer. It will be hard for the people in charge at Anfield to find a replacement for Klopp when he leaves after nine great years with the club.

Alonso is well-liked by Liverpool fans because he led the team to the Champions League title as a player and is now doing great as a manager. When he took over as manager of Bayern Leverkusen in October 2022, the 42-year-old was thrown right into the thick of things. The team was second from last in the Bundesliga.

Alonso has turned things around and recently set a new club record for the longest time going without a loss in a season. After 21 games, Leverkusen still hasn’t lost in the Bundesliga and is five points ahead of second-placed Bayern Munich.

The Reds are now looking for a new manager, and Klopp has openly backed Alonso. He told her, “Xabi is doing a great job.” The next crop of managers is already there, and I think Xabi is the best in that group.

As long as Alonso’s team stays in the DFB Pokal (German Cup) and the Europa League, they could win all three this season. Klopp and the people in charge at Klopp’s current club, who signed him to a deal that runs until 2026, are pleased by how quickly things changed at Leverkusen.

“It amazes me how quickly his team is so well-tuned,” Klopp said. “For the time it took, he gave it his stamp of approval. There’s no way to know if that’s how he always wants to play or just how this team plays.

“He hasn’t been in the business long enough to say, but it’s clear that the coaching part is great.” It’s clear. He used to be a great player, and he comes from a family of coaches, which helps a bit. When he was playing, he was already like a coach.

“The football he plays, the teams he puts together, and the transfers he made were all truly amazing.” Tottenham was also interested in Alonso before he signed a new deal with Leverkusen. Teams all over Europe will want to sign the Spanish player.
