Liverpool can now sign £61M baller Barcelona want to “cash in” on
Barcelona has reportedly placed former Liverpool target Raphinha up for sale prior to the January transfer window.
Liverpool had a strong interest in the former Leeds United star until he decided to consummate a dream transfer to play for Barcelona.
According to Football Transfers, Raphinha’s performances in Spain have been inconsistent, and Barcelona now wishes to cash in on him while they still can by releasing him.
As early as January 2023, attempts were made to transfer him, but Arsenal and Newcastle United were deterred by the initial asking price of approximately €100 million (£87 million).
Nevertheless, they are reportedly prepared to accept €70 million (£61 million) at this time due to an urgent financial need.
It is anticipated that Raphinha, who will shortly turn 27, will attract potential buyers; however, Liverpool has not expressed any interest in him at this time. Although he would be an excellent addition to the squad, he does not currently meet the standards necessary to start for Klopp.
The rumored frontrunners for his signature are Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
It is important to mention that Raphinha is presently not inclined to depart from Camp Nou.
The former Leeds player is insufficient to serve as Mohamed Salah’s replacement should he decide to depart Liverpool.
Despite interest from the Saudi Pro League, David Ornstein suggested that Salah might remain at Anfield for a longer duration than anticipated. This should allay the concerns of Liverpool supporters.
