If a Reds player gets a yellow card this weekend, they could lose one of their best players. On the other hand, Manchester United could be without two important players.

There are a lot of star players on Liverpool and Manchester United who have four yellow cards going into this weekend’s Premier League games.

League rules say that Alexis Mac Allister of the Reds or Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo of United will miss their next game if they get another yellow card. On Saturday at 8 p.m., Liverpool plays Aston Villa at Anfield. On Sunday, United plays Leicester at Old Trafford.

It’s possible that Mac Allister will get a yellow card and not be able to play in Liverpool’s game against Southampton on Sunday, after the international break. This will worry Arne Slot. This season, the Argentinian has been a mainstay in Slot’s middle. The former Brighton player has played in all 10 of Liverpool’s Premier League games so far and has been a huge reason why they are currently in first place

United will play Leicester, and substitute manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge of his last game for the club. The Red Devils’ new head coach, Ruben Amorim, is set to start work on Monday, November 11.

The manager will be watching the match against Leicester with one eye on Mainoo or Martinez. If either of them makes a mistake, the manager could rule them out for United’s first game as manager, which is an away game against Ipswich Town on November 24. So far this season, Martinez has played nine times at the centre of United’s defence.

But the Argentine back has been shown yellow cards in games against Chelsea, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool. Mainoo, on the other hand, has played seven times for United and was booked against Aston Villa, Southampton, Brighton, and, like Martinez, in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool.

Slot’s engine room has been missing Mac Allister, who has been getting four yellow cards in a row. While playing against Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace, the 25-year-old got booked.

Players who get five yellow cards in their first 19 games are suspended for one game. After scoring his fourth goal against United last weekend, Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea joined a group of 23 players who are all walking on thin ice.

Newcastle’s Fabian Schar, Joelinton, and Dan Burn, as well as Spurs’ Micky van de Ven, are also on the list of players who could be suspended. Ryan Christie, Justin Kluivert, and Antoine Semenyo are also at risk for Bournemouth.

A player will be banned for two games if they get booked 10 times in their first 32 Premier League games. But yellow cards don’t follow you to the EFL Cup or FA Cup.

If Liverpool beats Villa at Anfield on Saturday, they will try to get even further ahead at the top of the table. But Unai Emery’s team will be hoping to throw a wrench in the works and get back on track after only winning one of their last five Premier League games. They will also be hoping to bring their hot form from the Champions League to what will be a tough game on Merseyside.

United’s game at 2 p.m. against Steve Cooper’s Leicester will give the Red Devils a chance to get even more stable under acting coach Van Nistelrooy after last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea. But United and Liverpool will need to make sure that Martinez, Mac Allister, and Mainoo follow the rules.
