Following their 3-1 win over Sheffield United, Liverpool went back to the top of the Premier League.

After Liverpool beat Sheffield United 3-1, Alexis Mac Allister hit back at people who say bad things about Cody Gakpo.

With their hard-earned win over the relegation-threatened Blades at Anfield, the Reds went two points ahead at the top of the Premier League. Mac Allister scored Liverpool’s best goal, a right-footed half-volley that went into the top corner and gave them the lead again against the Blades.

After Ivo Grbic’s pass hit Darwin Nunez and went into the net, Conor Bradley scored an own goal to tie the game. The Argentine scored his sixth goal for Liverpool, adding to the amazing goal he scored against Fulham. In extra time, Gakpo sealed the win.

People said that Mac Allister’s shot against the Cottagers was lucky, but he insisted that he had to show them they were wrong.

The 24-year-old said, “I don’t know (which goal was better).” “We talked about that. They were both great, but what mattered most was that they helped win the game. They told me it was lucky against Fulham, so I had to show them they were wrong.

“I don’t know if it’s revenge (against Manchester United), but for sure it will be an important game for us because if we want to win something then we have to win every game and that is the aim,” he said.

Liverpool plays Manchester United this Sunday, and they want to get back at United for their shocking FA Cup quarterfinal loss in March. Gakpo was one of the players who was criticized for how they played at Old Trafford because of the loss, but on Thursday against the Blades, they scored to make the win even better.

Mac Allister spoke to the critics and said, “Let me say something.” I’m so happy for him. He worked really hard, and today he reached his goal. Oh, I’m so happy! He’s one of those guys who works hard, is always positive, and leads the group well. I’m happy for him and the group.
