Kyrie’s Revelation: You won’t Believe Luka’s Fury!! Imagine 24 Points in 3 Minutes!!!
One of the most talked-about topics in the NBA right now is the massive trade that sent Luka Doncic from the Mavericks to the Lakers.
Many are still talking behind the scenes about the transaction and how it went down, which sent shockwaves across the league.
Taking aim at Doncic’s demeanour, purported bad habits, and defensive deficiencies, Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison wasted no time making comments after the trade.
Lakers hand Doncic the keys
After the 26-year-old’s Lakers were eliminated in a first-round playoff series by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 4-1, all eyes are on Los Angeles.
For Doncic, next season is all about proving his doubters wrong and establishing his legacy in the greatest basketball league in the world.
To a large extent, the Lakers have given him control of the team. Not everyone is fixated on the alleged shortcomings of Doncic, though. Some, like Kyrie Irving, are thinking back on his mind-blowing plays.
Irving, who played alongside Doncic in Dallas and who, while nursing a torn ACL, had inked a three-year, $119 million deal with the Mavericks, expressed his sadness at Doncic’s departure.
Even though it didn’t occur during a game, he is now revealing one of Doncic’s most renowned achievements.
Kyrie Irving in awe of Luka Doncic
“One of our guys — I won’t name names, but it was Grant Williams — decided to mess with Luka,” Irving said with a smile. “He thought Luka wasn’t locked in that day at practice.
So he starts chirping at him all over the floor. Eventually Luka’s like, ‘Alright.’ And I’m telling you, Luka went on a 26–6 run by himself. You can ask anyone. I’m not exaggerating.
Irving says Doncic dropped a staggering 24 straight points in roughly three minutes — all during that single practice session. The story, first reported by Eurohoops, is a reminder of just how much Irving respects his former running mate, and how Doncic’s talent can leave even fellow superstars in awe.
Doncic’s NBA accomplishments with the Mavs
Doncic spent six and a half seasons with the Mavericks, winning Rookie of the Year, making five straight All-NBA First Teams, and earning five All-Star nods. He led Dallas to the 2024 NBA Finals — just the third Finals appearance in franchise history — alongside Irving, forming what TNT analyst and former coach Stan Van Gundy once called “the best backcourt in history.”
That partnership ended with Doncic’s trade to the Lakers, but hisunforgettable moments — even the ones from behind closed doors at practice — are still part of Dallas lore.
