Klopp may offer one last opportunity to Liverpool’s more prolific player than Doak.

This “ridiculous” 20-year-old has yet to make his debut with the first team at Anfield.

Liverpool is presently fostering a cohort of young talents that is more promising than any in the club’s history. In the coming years, manager Jurgen Klopp will be enthusiastic about promoting additional prospects to the first team.

Curtis Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold are undoubtedly vital components of Klopp’s system, having both made their debuts under his tutelage. However, prior to the recent enhancements, genuine prospects were scarce.

Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic, and Jarell Quansah are currently vying for playing time in Klopp’s squad, but there are a plethora of underappreciated candidates vying for opportunities, perhaps none more endowed than Mateusz Musialowski.

Upon viewing Musialowski’s highlight reel, one might be compelled to shake their head incredulously, pondering the reasoning behind Klopp’s decision to not yet grant this mercurial star his first-team debut.

Unfortunately, despite Musialowski’s inherent talent, concerns have been expressed about his off-the-ball performance. Following contributing to 26 goals in each of his first two seasons in England, he managed to score a meager two goals in the previous season and was subsequently benched in the penultimate year of his contract.

Since his acquisition by Liverpool in 2020 from SMS Lodz, the Pole has continued to mesmerize spectators with his dexterity and abilities. However, his alleged attitude and lack of consistency have prevented him from being considered for a senior squad.

Klopp may offer one last opportunity to Liverpool's more prolific player than Doak.

There is a possibility that the 20-year-old, who reporter Lewis Bower has described as possessing “ridiculous” quality, is preserving his chances of making a breakthrough, given that he is presently experiencing the most productive phase of his developing career.

In fact, Musialowski has contributed to two assists and six goals in just eight appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring in each of the club’s three EFL Trophy contests against senior opposition.

Musialowski’s current situation is highly uncertain; it appeared as though he would be leaving Merseyside this summer. However, his recent form has served as the greatest indication of his value, and he may even be the academy’s most naturally gifted player.

Andy Kelly remarked that Musialowski was “outstanding.” While the flourishing Scotsman’s dynamism, stamina, and work ethic have earned him a spot in Klopp’s senior squad, he may even be more talented than Doak.

Doak has appeared in nine senior matches for Liverpool, garnering early opportunities to win shots in both the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.

With a low center of gravity that enables him to swivel and weave through the lines, the 18-year-old winger has earned the moniker “prodigy” from correspondent Keifer MacDonald. There is a possibility that he will eventually establish himself as one of the forwards in the Premier League.

Doak has contributed to eight assists and eleven goals in just 27 matches for Liverpool’s youth teams. However, considering Musialowski’s current prolific form, there is reason to believe that, with proper supervision in the coming months, he could transfer his talents to the senior level.

Doak has earned a spot in Klopp’s lineup due to his diligence and perseverance; if his Polish counterpart can slightly increase his output in that regard, he could very well have a prosperous career in the future.
