“Just want”: Sean Dyche reacts right away to the VAR ruling in the Everton vs. Ipswich game

In the Premier League, Everton beat Ipswich Town by a score of 2-0.

Sean Dyche thinks that Ipswich Town’s penalty was correctly reversed, and that Everton should have won at Portman Road.

The Toffees easily won 2-0, making it four Premier League games in a row without losing. In the first half, Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane both scored goals. But when Everton was ahead by one goal, Ipswich thought they had a penalty when Jack Clarke went down because Dwight McNeil was thought to have fouled him.

But VAR stepped in and told on-field judge Michael Oliver to look into what happened. He did, and Oliver changed his mind about what he had originally decided. And because Everton had a possible penalty turned down in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United before the break, Dyche was glad that the judges were being consistent.

The manager of the Blues said, “All you want is consistency, and they’ve had that.” They said it wasn’t a penalty, but I thought it was, and we had one with Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Newcastle. If they’re going to be consistent, I’m fine with that. That’s right, this one shouldn’t have been given since Dom’s wasn’t. It wasn’t.

Dyche told BBC Sport that he was “really pleased” with Everton’s job. I thought we played well in a lot of different ways, and our attack worked well. We now have eight points after four games, thanks to three more points. The other team had a great season last year, but I thought we controlled the game well. Our team is more experienced, and that showed in how we handled the game.

“We gave the ball away a few times this season, but today our shape was good, we worked hard to get bodies behind the ball, and we scored two very nice goals.” We had many chances, and we could’ve gone even further. Everyone knows that we’ve been winning 2-0 and then losing, but today we won. It’s getting better, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

There are more signs that we’re a good group. I always have faith in the team and players. At the beginning of the season, I didn’t think we were too far off. We had a few turns around, but we are learning from them.
